All the poison was spreading all across this river and each and every animal became ill and as worse, died. Fish was the most severe animal to be intoxicated with this poisoning of mercury. People were eating fish realised on the news and everywhere around them people were gossiping about all the fish and how they had been intoxicated with this disease. People all around this land were becoming ill and dying from this mercury poising. This severe mercury poisoning was now known as Minamata. The environment was becoming intoxicated with smell and bad fumes. Nobody went to beaches and lakes or even tried to drink water because people would be too scared in case they would become sick and die. Children of the age 2 had been affected by this Minamata. It is sad to see little children at that age die and see no life that would come ahead of them. Once all the fish out of the sea had gone and nobody had eaten them, there was no longer and more methyl mercury in the seas. It took a long time for the mercury to disappear.
